TravellingSalesman functions

The Excel TravellingSalesman function is used to calculate the solution to the Travelling Salesman problem.

Usage:

=TravellingSalesman(placename, latitude, longitude)

Where:

placename is the name of the place. It must be unique.
latitude is the latitude of the place
longitude is the longitudeof the place

Finding the solution

When you have added the TravellingSalesman functions for all the places, click TSS on the Geodesix toolbar and click Find Route. The numbers returned by the TravellingSalesman functions will change to indicate the order in which to perform the trip using the shortest distance. Use the Excel Sort function to sort on these numbers and then select your worksheet in the Map Sheet dropdown to display the route.

The Excel TravellingSalesmanDistance function returns the total route distance in metres.
